I’m a mathematician mostly, but I program a lot because that’s necessary to get things done.
My main focus is on bridging the gap between the theory+implementation of ML and AI with actual human understanding and needs. I help answer questions like “How can we make sure that our predictive analytics align with our equity goals as an institution?” or “What can AI tools be used for? Can you put together a demo of a chat bot that acts on reliable web information that answers via SMS (texting)?”
My job is to implement the answers to those questions through some combination of programming, communication graphics, and academic research.
